It has been reported through a series of memoirs that Imam Khomeini has had a great devotion and love for the infallible successors of the holy prophet of Islam
During years-long stay in the holy city of Najaf, each day he used to spend at least three hours at holy shrine of the commander of the faithful to recite Ziyarat Jami'ah Kabirah and other recommended supplications.
Imam never gave up this practice even in stormy weather or any other tough conditions.
He also used to spend Muharram and Ashura in Karaba to commemorate the martyrdom of the Imam Hossein (AS) during those years.
