Those were the best moments of my life

After the speech in the Behesht-e-Zahra necropolis, the Imam expressed the desire to mix with the people. There is also a photograph of the Imam minus the clerical turban and cloak and caught in the thick of the crowd. Later the Imam commenting on the event says that, “I felt as if my soul was being seized.” The Imam’s interpretation was that “the best moments of my life was the time when I was being crushed under the hands and feet of the people!” The manner in which he responded to the people’s sentiments itself speaks of the Imam’s ultimate humility and unaffectedness.
